Think Your Computer Tape Backup is Keeping Your Business Data Safe from Loss or Corruption?
You Won’t After Reading This…
Dear Fellow Business Owner,
In the 13 years we have been supporting computer networks, tape drives have been the greatest source of trouble for our customers. Good ones are too expensive, and still too slow and unreliable. Tapes go bad, tapes get lost, they are expensive to replace and now they are not large enough to handle the contents of a single home computer’s hard drive.
It is Time to Dump that Tape Drive!
If you can’t afford to go without your company data for hours – possibly even days or weeks – and you are using a tape backup system, then I urge you to read on.
The Average Failure Rate of Disk and Tape Drives is 100%!
Incredible, isn’t it? Most people don’t realize that ALL tape drives fail at some point. But what’s really dangerous is that most companies don’t realize it happened until it’s too late.
That’s why thousands of businesses lose millions of dollars worth of data to disasters like fires, power outages, theft, equipment failure, and even simple human mistake. In almost every case, these businesses had some type of backup system in place, but were horrified to find out it wasn’t working when they needed it most.
As a Matter of Fact, You’ve Probably Experienced These Problems
With Your Tape Drive Already…
In addition to the fact that they are unreliable and are guaranteed to fail at some point, tape drives require a user to swap out the tapes on a daily basis. If someone forgets, goes on vacation, or leaves the company, the plan falls through.
Plus, the tapes need to be constantly monitored to make sure they are working. Then, if you’ve ever tried to recover data from your tape drive, you may have discovered how difficult it was, or that the data you thought was being backed up, in fact - wasn’t.
Finally, if your office gets flooded because of a storm, incurs water damage from a sprinkler system or faulty pipe, burned to the ground by a fire, or burglarized, your tape backup will be damaged along with everything else and will be completely worthless!
Fortunately there is a way to eliminate the risk and hassle of tape drive backups, which brings me to the point of this letter…
Our Proven NetProtect Backup Eliminates the Risk and
Hassles of Tape Backups Finally and Forever!

Still Think Your Data is Safe?
Our Free Data Security Analysis Will Reveal the Truth…
As a prospective new client, I’d like to extend a “get to know us” offer of a Free Data Security Audit. I don’t normally give away free services at Creative Computing because if I did, I’d go out of business. But if your company meets our strict selection criteria, I thought this would be a great way to introduce our services to a few new clients.
At no charge, a security specialist will come on site and…- Audit your current data protection including backup and restore procedures, tape rotations and maintenance schedule to see if there is anything jeopardizing your data’s security.
- Review procedures for storage and transportation of data. Many people don’t realize they damage their disks (and thereby corrupt their data) by improperly caring for their storage devices.
- Check your network backups to make sure they are accurately backing up all of the critical files and information you would NEVER want to lose.
- Present a simple and easy to understand chart that will detail the makeup of your data, including the age and type of files you are backing up. Why should you care? Because many companies inadvertently use valuable computer storage to back up their employees’ personal MP3 files and movies.
- Discuss current data protection needs and explain in plain English where your risks are. We know everyone has a different level of risk tolerance, and we want to make sure all the risks you’re taking with your data are by choice not because of miscommunication or accident.
Depending on what we discover, we’ll either give you a clean bill of health or reveal gaps in your data backup that could prove disastrous. If it’s appropriate, we’ll provide you with an action plan for further securing your data. Naturally, I don’t expect everyone to become a client, but I do expect a small percentage to hire us to protect their most valuable asset, their company’s data.
But I Don’t Need a Free Security Analysis Because
My IT Guy Has it Covered…
Maybe you don’t feel as though you have an urgent problem that needs to be fixed immediately. Maybe you think your data is perfectly safe.
Many of our current clients felt their data was safe until it became necessary for them to RESTORE THEIR DATA. Unfortunately, that is when most companies “test” their data backup and restore solution. We are helping companies like yours AVOID embarrassing and extremely costly data catastrophes like these:
Construction Company Suffers 4 Days Of Downtime
For What Should Have Been A Simple, Inexpensive Data Restore;
Hard Cost To Company: $12,600
A local construction company was not running regular backups of their network servers. When backups were done they only backed up part of the total system. Due to overuse and lack of maintenance, the network started to degenerate and eventually shut down under the load. Leaving the company without access to their Email, Data, or even their computers.
This caused their entire network to be down for 4 full days and cost them $3,000 in unplanned support fees to get them back up and running. They would have been running sooner, but they spent the first three days trying to fix it themselves. Naturally the costs were much higher when you factor in the lost productivity of their 20 administrative and sales staff during that time bringing their estimated hard costs to $12,600.
Here is , yet another…
Insurance Agent Loses 3 Days of Time and Customer Contact Data
Due to a Bad Hard Drive and No Backup
Costing $4,500 plus Lost Productivity
First thing in the morning the Agent’s was greeted with a black screen saying “Missing Operating System.” The local hard drive had failed in his computer. No Problem, they always save all of their documents to their network server and that is backed up nightly. However, they had not planned for files like Outlook Email PST archives and the customer quote databases in each rating program used by the Agent.
Voicemails were left; Emails were sent no technician responded with even a phone call. The next morning, after 3-4 hours of onsite work, the computer was back up and patched, but the complete contents of his Outlook Email and multiple quote databases were lost never to be recovered.
All of this would have been recovered if the Agent had a plan to backup local computers on a nightly basis. While the costs for an individual agents lost time and the unplanned repair service was $4500, the customer history of email, and quotes were the greater loss.
Why Trust Us?
There are a lot of companies offering offsite backup services, so what makes us so special? Why choose us over the dozens of other companies offering what appear to be the same services?
I’m glad you asked because there are 6 BIG reasons to trust us with your data security:1. Our state-of-the-art data centers protect your data by storing it in multiple offsite locations after it is securely transferred from your location. All of your data is stored at two high-availability data centers in Phoenix and Baltimore. Each NetProtect data center is highly secure and includes alarm systems, key card access, security cameras, fire suppressors, environmental controls and emergency power generators. Redundant fiber optic networks, Internet bandwidth connections and automatic failover firewalls provide everything necessary to ensure your valuable data is online and not in danger.
2. NetProtect Keeps your Business Data Secure and Available helping to meet HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley requirements … We are obsessed with the security of your data. To say we go overboard would be an

understatement. From encryption to physical security to fully redundant network connections, NetProtect can accommodate a wide range of customized security requirements.
3. Our NetProtect Local Backup Technology Guarantees Fast Backup and Restores. You are getting rid of tapes because they are too slow.
Some offsite backup providers ask you to push your data directly from your computer to their data center over your Internet connection. This is actually slower then a tape drive. Our NetProtect server is installed at your office allowing backups and restores of your data to run as fast as your Network allows.
4. NetProtect Disaster Recovery Service offers next day delivery of a replacement NetProtect server if your office, servers, and existing NetProtect server are lost. Your most current offsite data backup will be loaded on a new NetProtect server and shipped next business day delivery to the location of your choice. Upon receipt of the Replacement server, we will plug in the server and begin recovery of

your network server(s). NetProtect Disaster Recovery Service will allow you to use the replacement server for two weeks before it must be returned or purchased.
5. NetProtect can replace a failed server within 30 minutes getting your office back to work. No more waiting for onsite service technicians or replacement servers to arrive, the NetProtect server uses virtualization technology to replace that failed server maintaining access to your data and keeping your
office running until the failed server can be repaired or replaced.
6. Creative Computing has been serving Saginaw, Bay City and Midland Businesses for over 13 years. We are a local company with a real, live local office. That might not seem too unique to you, but what you don’t realize is that some offsite data companies are made up of a couple of guys working from their back bedrooms with no way of actually reaching them other than by e-mail or phone.
We’ll come on site, shake your hand, and buy you a cup of coffee. Wouldn’t you rather deal with a local company that can meet with you face to face rather than an unknown entity in a different state – or different country? With Creative Computing you get local service, and national resources, the best of worlds.
